Emergencies

We understand that veterinary emergencies can be very stressful and can occur at any time. We therefore offer a 24-hour emergency service, 365 days of the year.

If the emergency is outside our regular opening hours, please call our usual number 01564 743033 where your call will be answered by a qualified registered veterinary nurse from our answering service, Equicomms. They will answer your call and triage your emergency passing on all the details on to the duty vet. They may also give you some advice as to what you can do whilst waiting for the vet to arrive.

Our own vets as well as equine vets from Equicall (one of our sister businesses) cover our out of hours emergency calls, so you never have to worry about who will be treating your horse. Equicall provides a team of very experienced equine vets who solely deal with emergency call outs so are very experienced in all types of emergency. We work closely with the Equicall vets who provide this service for us, and they are very much considered part of our team.

Should you require emergency treatment out of regular office hours (Monday to Friday between 5.30pm and 8am) or during the weekend (Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays) additional charges will be incurred as follows:

Emergency Visit 1-10 miles – £159.50

Emergency Visit 10-15 miles – £166.50

Emergency Visit 15-20 miles – £172.50

Emergency Visit 20-25 miles – £178.50

Emergency Visit 25-30 miles – £183.50

Emergency Visit 30+ miles – £192.50
